After a short attempt at selling insurance at the family’s insurance agency, Paul decided to pursue his life long interest in photography. He opened Paul Streelman Photography in 1987. Paul photographs high school seniors, children, and families as well as weddings, and business and anniversary portraits.

“My first introduction to photography came at the age of 11 from a cadet counselor who showed us how to shoot, develop and print black & white film. When I saw the images appear in the developer tray, it was like magic. I was hooked. Today, with the emergence of digital photography, the darkroom has become a storage room and the magic happens in front of the computer screen. This is a very exciting time to be a photographer.”

Paul earned a bachelors degree in photography from Grand Valley State and continued his education at the Professional Photographer’s Winona International School of Photography. He is  past president of the Western Michigan Professional Photographers. Paul is currently serving as president of Calvin Christian School Association, and is also a member of the Grandville-Jenison Chamber of Commerce.

Paul is married to Jane Streelman who teaches Kindergarten at Grandville Christian School. They have been blessed with three children: Laura & Matthew Hall, Sam and Abby.
